Beachcombers Square Dance Club was formed in 1953. The original group started dancing in the Sixes Grange hall, later building the present Beachcombers' Cove on land donated to the Club by Mrs. Susie Nicholson. The Beachcombers' Cove was built entirely with donated materials and volunteer labor. Several of the Club members were employees of the local Plywood Mill, and if you get a chance to look at our unique Dance Floor, it is four foot squares made of Plywood stood on end. A wonderful floor to dance on as well as look at!! |
